This week Mark Goddard and Toby Mohlman began forming the features in the park.  These guys are super nice and VERY talented!

Here are a few other pictures from last week. Tom Noble, the owner of WhoSkates has done a terrific job prepping the site for the forming crew, which began today. Starting today, the park should be complete in about two and a half weeks! I will upload pictures from this week ASAP. Come check it out!

The park is truly taking shape.  The bowl has been dug, the outer track is prepped, the foundation for the deck is formed, and the drain pipe was installed.  Tomorrow sand will be delivered to the site.  Truly AMAZING!

Go to the BSBP facebook page for more pictures…

Today Tom Noble moved on site.  He’s here for the weekend to do preliminary digging.  The pictures below show the first scoop, as well as the beginning of the bowl.  Can’t wait!

Today site preparation began for the long awaited skate park project here in Bay Village. We are excited to get this process underway. Check back often for park updates!

Mid-August the building crew will start arriving & we are looking for volunteers to provide box lunches, cold drinks and hot dinners for them.  The initial crew will be approximately 2-3 and will be followed by 6-8 more. Let’s show them our appreciation & what a great community Bay Village is!  Lunches and drinks need to be taken to the job site & it would be great if you can invite the crew to your home for dinner! The crew could be a few as 2 and as many as 8 & we will need to cover approximately 5-6 weeks.  I will be sharing more information as we get it. Send me an e-mail to sign up as a food/drink volunteer and feel free to share this information with your friends, family and neighbors!

Thank you in advance for all of your support in making this happen!

The City of Bay Village and BSBP Foundation had the official ground breaking ceremony for the park on Monday, July 5th at 12:30pm on location (NE corner of Wolf & Cahoon). Thank you to everyone who attended and to all who were there in spirit.  We truly have a great community!

Keep your eyes on the park location.  Construction is expected to begin Mid July.

Bike riders of all ages are invited to participate in a bicycle skills course on July 3, 2010 from 9am to 11am at Bay Middle School.  This event is sponsored by Bay Skate and Bike Park Foundation in cooperation with Bay City Schools. This event provides an opportunity for children to test bicycle skills, such as balance and handling, in a safe & protected environment while creating a greater awareness of bicycle laws.
