Mid-August the building crew will start arriving & we are looking for volunteers to provide box lunches, cold drinks and hot dinners for them. The initial crew will be approximately 2-3 and will be followed by 6-8 more. Let’s show them our appreciation & what a great community Bay Village is! Lunches and drinks need to be taken to the job site & it would be great if you can invite the crew to your home for dinner! The crew could be a few as 2 and as many as 8 & we will need to cover approximately 5-6 weeks. I will be sharing more information as we get it. Send me an e-mail to sign up as a food/drink volunteer and feel free to share this information with your friends, family and neighbors!
Thank you in advance for all of your support in making this happen!

Bike riders of all ages are invited to participate in a bicycle skills course on July 3, 2010 from 9am to 11am at Bay Middle School. This event is sponsored by Bay Skate and Bike Park Foundation in cooperation with Bay City Schools. This event provides an opportunity for children to test bicycle skills, such as balance and handling, in a safe & protected environment while creating a greater awareness of bicycle laws.

On the last Friday of each month a group of Cleveland cyclists meet and ride through the city to provide awareness about cycling. Each month the Cleveland group has been steadily growing (last month there were 50+ riders). It was great to see everything from fixie road bikes to 20″ BMX bikes to commuter bikes to mountain bikes traverse the downtown city streets.
The group meets at 6pm and leaves Public Square at 6:30pm this Friday night. Learn more about the event at www.ClevelandCriticalMass.com. Join in and try something new!
Yesterday WKYC News (Channel 3) did a great story on Bay Village’s Bike To School Challenge. The story also mentions the Bike & Skate Park project. Check it out here!
